Do Not Enter
My artworks are usually about my emotions and connections with space. Artwork Do Not Enter was created to convey the experience that I had in Israel during my study abroad semester. During my stay in Israel, I went to visit the city called Ramallah which is in Palestinian territory.
Jewish people are not allowed to go to the Palestinian territories. I went to Ramallah as a tourist. While coming back from there I got caught up in the middle of tear gas attack.
Project description
Do Not Enter was created to share the experience I had in Israel during a study abroad semester. I went to visit Ramallah city in Palestinian territory. While coming back, I got caught up in the middle of tear gas attack.
It was the experience of ‘you are welcome here’ on this land – as a tourist, yet you cannot accept the situation happening and feel that you can’t blame either side.
