Installations, Performances and Sculptures

Early in my life, I was introduced to a variety of Indian Art forms. I learned Indian classical singing, Bharatnatyam (Indian classical dance), and Indian instruments like Tabala and Harmonium.  I have also learned Warli Painting, Rangoli (sand art), Heena art, and Madhubani art form.

I was always surrounded by a variety of art forms which taught me to express through the wide range of mediums. My craving for trying new things and understanding new materials would seem to originate from the exposure to the arts that I received from an early age.

Project description

In Spring 2019, even though my major is Drawing and Painting, I went to Jerusalem, Israel to study glass blowing, glass casting, and ceramics. My artworks tend to contain mixed media. Different mediums allow me to express myself and my subjects in various ways.

I try to find meaning for each material in the artwork. Art has helped, and continues to help, me with my transition from India to USA, Ireland, and Israel and, allows me to express. It gives me a voice; even in the instance that I could not speak the country’s language.
